SC Villa, URA fire blanks

Collated Tuesday results

SC Villa 0-0 URA

Onduparaka 0-0 Bright Stars

SC Villa’s search for their first win of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) season continued on Tuesday at Namboole as they settled for a point in the goalless draw with URA.

For a goalless draw, it was a rather lively encounter with both teams adventurous but none actually seeing the back of the net.

VIlla forward Joseph Semujju had the game’s first two real chances, his second forcing URA goalkeeper James Alitho into a stretched save.

Mutanda Bashir also drew a fantastic save from Alitho while the majestic Shafik Kagimu had his dinking shot headed over the bar by Villa the other end.

URA’s best chance came on the stroke of half time when Kagimu glided in a through ball to Matthew Odong, but Villa goalkeeper Brian Bwete spread out to thwart the striker.

Villa returned from the break hungrier, and it took Alitho’s reflexes to keep out Ssemujju’s deflected shot from inside the area.

Villa remain winless and in relegation zone after five matches.

They now have three points from five matches while URA stay fourth on nine points.
