- Ndejje University Vs SC Villa – Wankulukuku
- Kira United Vs Vipers SC – St. Mary’s Kitende
SC Villa and Vipers Stanbic Uganda Cup opponents Ndejje University and Kira United respectively have changed venues for their round of 16 matches.
Ndejje University was meant to host the Jogoos at Ndejje in Luwero but have now chosen Mutesa II stadium, Wankulukuku while Kira United will play host to Vipers SC at St. Mary’s stadium, Kitende.
Surprisingly, it’s the premiership sides that communicated the developments via their twitter accounts.
“On request of Ndejje University, the match of the Stanbic Uganda Cup duel with SC Villa Jogoo will be played at Muteesa II Wankulukuku stadium this Thursday, 22nd March 2018 at 4 pm,” read a tweet on SC Villa account.
The Jogoos hosted their round of 32 tie at Mutesa II stadium, Wankulukuku winning 2-0 against Bright Stars.
“The #StanbicUgandaCup match between Kira United & Vipers SC will be played at St Mary’s Stadium on Thursday 22nd March 2018 at 4:00pm not Kira grounds as earlier communicated,” before Abdu Wasike, the club’s Media Officer explained why.
“Kira requested to change the venue due to security concerns at their home ground & lack of resources to host the match at Namboole,” said Wasike.
Vipers reached the quarter finals last year while SC Villa were eliminated as early as the round of 64 last season.
