Senkaaba and Yubu Bogere will be vital for SC Villa

SC villa 0-0 Maroons

Police 0-0 Mbarara City

Masavu 1-1 UPDF

Onduparaka 0-0 Express

Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) table toppers SC villa squandered the chance to stretch the lead when they were held goalless by Maroons in Masaka on Saturday.

Coach Wasswa Bbosa’s men could have opened up a six-point lead on KCCA, who were on Champions League duty, and Vipers,  who won at Soana 1-0, had they fashioned off victory over Asaph Mwebaze’s stubborn boys.

Villa are now on 33 points, four ahead of defending champions KCCA, and Vipers.

There were three other matches that failed to produce a winner as the league second round kicked off across the country.

Express, who endured a first round of the season to forget, will be pleased with themselves after grinding out a goalless stalemate at Onduparaka.

Onduparaka are fourth on 26, while Express still have a long way to go as the Red Eagles remain second from bottom on 12 points from 16 matches.

Police and Mbarara City also played out a goalless draw for the cops to stay fifth on 25 points and the Western Uganda side to hang in 10th on 20.

Relegation strugglers Masavu and UPDF, both in the bottom three, settled for a 1-1 draw.

James Kasibante scored for Masavu while Fahad Bardiro got UPDF’s goal.
