Tuesday results

Express 0-2 Soltilo Bright Stars
UPDF 0-0 Maroons

Nelson Senkatuka hit a double as Soltilo Bright Stars shot down 10-man Express 2-0 at the Red Eagles home ground, the Mutesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku on Tuesday.

This was Bright Stars second consecutive victory following a 2-1 win over Onduparaka in their last outing.

Senkatuka now has four goals this season, one goal behind leading scorers Yunus Sentamu of Vipers and Allan Kayiwa, who missed a penalty on the day, of Express.

Bright Stars only second win of the season moves them to seventh on the 15-team log with 11 points after nine games.

For fifth-placed Express, this was a missed opportunity to go level on 17 points with leaders Wakiso Giants.

Their own downfall started as early as the sixth minute when midfielder Daniel Shabene sent off for landing his studs onto the leg of Bright Stars’ Cleophus Fiat.

Senkatuka then put the visitors ahead four minutes later, taking full advantage of poor control by Express captain Isa Lumu to round goalkeeper Denis Otim.

He doubled the advantage on 36 minutes, pouncing on a loose ball after Express failed to clear their lines.

Express had a chance to pull one back after the break but their marksman, Kayiwa, struck the woodwork from a penalty spot sum up their poor day at office.

At Bombo Military Barracks Ground, hosts UPDF and Maroons could only play out a goalless draw.
