Senkatuka strikes Stars to summit

Friday result

Bright Stars 3-1 Maroons

Bright Stars skipper Nelson Senkatuka led from the front, netting twice as the Mwererwe side dispatched Maroons 3-1 on Friday.

Augustine Kacancu, who was later sent off after a second bookable offense, got the third with former Onduparaka player Rashid Agau getting Maroons consolation.

Victory, the biggest on the day as the StarTimes Uganda Premier League  (SUPL) 2018/19 kicked off, moved Bright Stars to the top of the table on goal difference with three points.

Senkatuka scored the opener off a well converted penalty on 10 minutes before doubling the advantage three minutes into the second half with a powerful header.

Kacancu, who was later on sent off for a second yellow card, put the game beyond Maroons’ reach on the hour mark.

Agau did pull one back for Maroons in the 90th minute but it was a little too late for the visitors.
