Stanbic Uganda Cup final

Vipers SC 8-1 Bul

Yunus Sentamu scored a Stanbic Uganda Cup record four goals in the final as Vipers annihilated Bul 8-1 to win their second title in the competition on Sunday.

It was clearly one way traffic at the Fufa Technical Centre in Njeru, where Bul failed to fill the bench with the necessary players after a good number were released at the end of last season.

Majority of the team is boys promoted from the club junior side.

Livingstone Mulondo headed Vipers first in the fourth minute from one of several Bobosi Byaruhanga deliveries.

But it is Sentamu who stole the show, getting his first of four goals off a Paul Willa cutback.

The work was not done yet, though. The striker still had to evade a couple of challenges before shooting through goalkeeper Sanon Mulabi’s legs on 25 minutes.

Caesar Manzoki then joined the fray with a brace, tapping in Milton Karisa’s low ball and later shooting low past Mulabi for a 4-0 Vipers lead.

Sentamu made it 5, 6 and 7-0 after half time to write his own and competition’s record of four goals in the final.

Bul goalkeeper Mulabi, meanwhile, was forced off with a discomfort and replaced by striker Musa Esenu.

Esenu was just in time to leak in the eighth goal, a deflected freekick before substitute Hamis Tibita scored the slightest of consolations.
