Mbarara City 1-1 SC Villa

SC Villa missed an opportunity of going joint top again with leaders Vipers SC as they conceded late to draw 1-1 with Mbarara City on Saturday.

Emmanuel Ibe Obina’s stoppage time penalty cancelled out Yubu Isangi Bogere first half goal to take a home point.

The 16-time record champions, Villa – who are still looking for their first league title in 14 years -, remain second on the log on 50 points, two behind Vipers.

The Jogoos led at half time through a Bogere 38th minute goal but Obina broke the visitors hearts in Mbarara with an injury time equaliser.

A point for Mbarara, totaling to 27 in 26 matches, keeps their hopes of surviving relegation alive as they stand a place above the drop zone.

Villa’s next game is at home to Kirinya-Jinja in Masaka on Wednesday while Mbarara travel to bottom side Masavu.
