Shaban Muhammad scored a brace as Onduparaka checked Express’ seemingly smooth ride to the end of the season in a 2-0 away victory at Wankulukuku on Friday.
The forward scored in either half to subject the Red Eagles to their first defeat in eight StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) matches and end a three-game winning run under interim coach James Odoch.
Shaban opened the floodgates inside three minutes before completing his brace five minutes into the second half.
The Caterpillars move to the eighth position on 33 points while Express stay sixth on 42.
In grabbing a brace, Shaban’s goals tally for the season is now 15, only one shy of leading scorer Caesar Manzoki of Vipers.
Elsewhere, URA compounded Police’s relegation worries with a 2-0 defeat at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo on the same day.
