Onduparaka striker Shaban Muhammad and Vipers coach Roberto Oliveira, popularly known as Robertinho, are Pilsner player and coach of April.

The duo bagged Shs1m and a plaque each courtesy of title sponsors Pilsner Lager at a ceremony held at Kati Kati in Kampala on Thursday.

Shaban netted six goals in four matches for his side in April, with a hat-trick against Police, brace against Express and one goal against SC Villa.

He beat Vipers striker Caesar Manzoki and KCCA forward Sadat Anaku to the plaudits.

“I want to thank God, and of course the fans, it hasn’t been easy but they motivated me even when things did not go right,” said Shaban.

“I did not do this alone. My teammates and technical staff have all been there for me.”

On the coaching front, Robertinho was claiming his third monthly recognition having already won March and last December awards.

The Brazilian beat Soltilo Bright Stars coach Paul Kiwanuka, who guided his side to three wins and one draw.

“I feel happy to be here for the third time, I have loved Uganda and this country has good talent,” said Robertinho.

Robertinho’s Vipers won five games in the month of April as they sealed the club’s fifth league title in history.

Onduparaka coach Dudu Bosco, who also won three and drew once, was the other contender.

Solomon Mulowa, the National Promotions Manager UBL, also attended the event

“I want to congratulate all the winners, rewarding excelling sportsmen is one way of showing our commitment and support to Ugandan Sports,” he said.
