Simba 2-0 Bright Stars

Bright Stars winless streak in the Azam Uganda Premier League (UPL) has stretched to nine games after a 2-0 defeat away to Simba.

The struggling army side, who are fighting for life, broke the deadlock in the 20th minute thanks to veteran skipper Godfrey Wakaza.

The returning captain was again involved in the second goal after he was fouled in the area for a penalty that Aggrey Kirya converted at the stroke of half time to take a two-goal cushion into the break.

The scoreline remained intact after the break as stand-in coach John Kayanja won against a side he helped earn promotion to the league a couple of seasons ago.

Despite the win, the army side remain stuck in 14th on the log but move to 22 points while Bright Stars swap places with SC Villa who thumped SCVU 4-0 at Nakivubo.
