Simba 1-0 KCCA

When Mike Mutebi stated he was wary of Simba before kick-off, he must have envisaged what was coming.

On a cold afternoon in Bombo, Alex Witaba scored the only goal of the game as KCCA succumbed to a second successive shock defeat at the hands of another relegation struggling side.

Witaba netted in the 63rd minute in a closely contested tie to move the army side to 25 points, two adrift of safety with three games to go.

The loss, second in succession after a shock 2-1 loss to The Saints, coupled with Vipers 4-0 victory over SC Victoria University.

It means KCCA’s lead (at 51 points) is cut to just six points with second placed Vipers having two games in hand as the two sides meet on Friday.

Express also sit six points adrift in 3rd position with a game in hand.
