Simba suspend coach Byekwaso

Army side Simba have fired Morley Byekwaso as the club coach following a string of poor results in the Azam Uganda Premier League.

A club statement that upl.co.ug has seen says that the former Uganda Cranes midfielder has been ‘suspended’ over “unsatisfactory results” but history suggests that no local coach has been ‘suspended’ and returned to resume normal duties.

Simba are battling relegation having won only three of their 19 league matches.

A former KCC player, Byekwaso started official duties at Simba in July last year after leaving Sports Club Victoria University (SCVU).

Byekwaso joins a growing list of coaches that have either since resigned or been sacked this season.

The list includes Richard Wasswa, the former assistant coach at Vipers, Asaph Mwebaze (Maroons), Harunah Kebba (The Saints) and Alex Isabirye (Bul).
