Kataka Vs KCCA – Mbale

All but one Azam Uganda Premier League side are into the last eight of the 2016/17 Uganda Cup.

On Sunday, Police, Onduparaka and Sadolin Paints joined Vipers SC, Express and URA into the quarter finals of the competition after wins over Kyetume, Water and Baza Holdings respectively.

The Cops endured a tense penalty shootout in Nakisunga, Mukono that ended 8-9 in favour of Abdallah Mubiru’s side that saw their lead after 25 minutes through skipper Ben Ocen goal cancelled out for a leveller.

The first set of the shootout ended 4-4 with each missing one in the first five but Cops were better in the sudden death.

Elsewhere, Rashid Agau and Ceaser Okhuti scored late at Betway Green Light stadium to hand Onduparaka a 2-0 win over Water while Norman Ojik scored the winner for Sadolin Paints against Baza Holdings.

On Saturday, Express beat Masavu 2-0 at Wankulukuku with skipper Ibrahim Saddam Juma scoring all the goals against 9-man Allan Kabonge coached side.

URA were the biggest winners on the day as they hammered JMC Hippos 5-1 at Lugazi with Hamis Kiiza and Hudu Mulikyi scored twice each while Bokota Labama Kamana scored the other for the Ibrahim Kirya’s side.

On Thursday, Erisa Ssekisambu netted five goals as holders Vipers beat Kiboga United 7-0 at St. Mary’s Kitende.

The remaining game involving KCCA and Kataka in Mbale will be played in April, on the 11th in Mbale.
