Six UPL stars summoned for Afcon qualifiers

Uganda Cranes interim coach Abdallah Mubiru has included seven Uganda Premier League players in the 31-man squad for the 2021 Afcon qualifiers.

The Cranes face Burkina Faso and Malawi on March 24 and 29 home and away respectively eager to qualify for the third successive Afcon finals.

KCCA’s Charles Lukwago, Express defender Murushid Jjuuko, Vipers’ Halid Lwaliwa and Yunus Sentamu as well as under-20 internationals Gavin Kizito (SC Villa) and Bobosi Byaruhanga (Vipers) are part of the team.

Uganda needs to pick two points in the next two games to qualify for the edition in Cameroon.
