SC Villa 3-1 Lweza
Mike Sserumaga put his former bosses, Lweza, to the sword with a brace as SC Villa clinched the league tie 3-1 at Nakivubo on Tuesday afternoon.
The midfielder, who crossed from the Orange to the Blues in the January window, stood in a right place at the right time as Ibrahim Kiyemba’s clearance hit him and found the back of the net after 13 minutes.
The ex-Helsingborg attacker was again given another gift by Kiyemba, whose half-hearted clearance found him an unmarked just inside the area and shot first time past Charles Lukwago to send the home fans into frenzy.
Sserumaga’s second strike came in the first minute of added time to ensure the record league winners took a 2-0 lead into half time.
There was no change on the scoresheet after recess until the 84th minute when Umar Kasumba headed in SC Villa’s third off a John Adriko assist.
In the first of three minutes of additional time, Francis Ssembatya then pulled one back for the visitors, who have now lost all their four league games against the Jogoos.
The teams have swapped positions on the log with SC Villa now 11th with 33 points and Lweza 12th with two points adrift.
Ibrahim Kirya’s side have six games in hand on table topping KCCA, who are on 51 points.
