Mbarara City 2-1 Paidha

The striker grabbed his first on seven minutes before killing off the contest five minutes after the half time break with a calm finish after he was put through by Abraham Ndugwa.

Express coach George Ssimwogerere admitted they were no match for Vipers well-oiled machine as the hosts dominated proceedings.

“That is Express’s level,” he said, “It is like me having a Subaru and Vitz while going to Masaka.” The former Cranes international, however, promised to continue improving the Red Eagles.

Vipers head coach Michael Nam Ouma is, however, not fully convinced that his team is a finished article.

“They (Express) gave us a run for our money. We are still building the team to be more consistent,” he said.

Vipers are tied on 45 pints on the StarTimes Uganda Premier League table with KCCA before the Lugogo side host SC Villa yesterday.

At Kakyeka, Paul Mucureezi and Jude Ssemugabi scored for Mbarara City as they beat wallowing Paidha Black Angels 2-1 to arrest a two-match losing streak.
