KCCA striker Geoffrey Sserunkuma was on Saturday named the Phillip Omondi Player of The Season, an award given in respect of the Ugandan legend, who is arguably the country’s greatest footballer ever.

Sserunkuma, who also clinched the Players and Fans Player of The Year accolades at the Awards Ceremony held at City Hall, walked away with a land title and prize money totaling to Shs3m.

The prolific finisher scored a total of 32 goals in all competitions to help KCCA retain the league title, win the Uganda Cup and also make the group stages of the Total Caf Confederation Cup.

Twenty-one of Sserunkuma’s 32 goals came in the Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL), seven in the Uganda Cup, four in the Caf Champions League and one in the Confederation Cup

Versatile Paul Musamali won Tom Lwanga’s most disciplined player award, an accolade given to a player with outstanding self-control. He took home Shs1,000,000.

Saddat Anaku clinched the Jackson Mayanja Young Player of the Season, which came with Shs500,000. The young striker scored 27 goals for KCCA soccer academy in the Fufa Juniors league.

Khassim Kyazze was voted Fan of The Season while Kawempe Fans Club retained their crown as the branch of the year, each taking home Shs500,000, and Shs1,000,000 respectively.
