Police 0-1 Bul

Bul FC subjected Police to their first home defeat this season with a 1-0 victory at Mandela National stadium, Namboole on Tuesday.

Goal scorer Hamis Tibita was the hero for the dominant visitors.

Although coach Kefa Kisala’s Bul stayed just a place above relegation with 15 points from 13 matches, they added yet another three points that could play a huge part in their survival fight.

The fourth defeat for coach Abdallah Mubiru’s Police kept them in third place on 23 points, but it drew them further away from leaders SC Villa by five points.

The Cops came into the game with a decent home record of four wins and only two draws, but that was bound to end on Tuesday.

Bul started well and should have taken the lead but missed clear scoring opportunities through Richard Wandyaka and Patrick Asiku.

League’s leading goal scorer with seven, Hood Kaweesa, also had a chance to put his name on the score sheet but headed over the bar off Yasin Mugume cross.

The Cops settled in the second half and started to boss possession but still Kisala’s side created the better chances.

Wandyaka had an attempt fly over the bar after being teed up by Asiku with Douglas Kisembo beaten.

The visitors pressure soon yielded, Tibita profiting from a Police defensive mix-up to tap home the winner on 81 minutes.
