Tuesday SUPL results
Vipers 0-0 KCCA
Police 1-2 Bright Stars
Wakiso Giants 2-1 Maroons
Busoga United 3-0 URA
StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) leaders Vipers SC and defending champions KCCA could only settle for a goalless draw in an encounter played at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende on Tuesday.
The highly billed match lived well under expectations as both sides struggled to sparkle into life.
Vipers coach Fred Kajoba was, however, pleased with the point.
“My target was to win 12 matches and lift the title,” said Kajoba, “But we have done fairly in the first four and we are still left with eight to go.”
The result leaves Vipers still five points ahead of KCCA. They have 50 points with eight matches to go.
KCCA manager Mike Mutebi could not hide his displeasure.
“Ugandan players are the same,” he said, “They all can’t play under duress. That said, it wasn’t bad result for us.
“We shall push on, it is a marathon, there are still interesting fixtures for them (Vipers) like URA.”
KCCA host Express this weekend while Vipers visit URA.
Talking of URA, the taxmen were on the receiving end of a 3-0 thrashing by Busoga United.
David Bagoole, Nelson Mandela and Lawrence Tezitya scored the three goals.
Elsewhere, there were wins for Bright Stars and Wakiso Giants as they beat Police and Maroons by 2-1 scorelines respectively.
Sula Sebuuza and Muwadda Mawejje netted Bright Stars while Tom Masiko and Viane Sekajugo got Wakiso’s goals.
