SC Villa 1-3 Vipers SC

StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) toppers, URA, maintained their lead at the summit with a commanding 3-1 victory over Police in Ndejje on Saturday.

Forwards Steven Mukwala, Joackim Ojera and Cromwell Rwothomio scored the goals for Sam Ssimbwa’s side to move to 54 points from 24 games.

Fahad Kizito got Police’s consolation. URA maintain a point’s over Vipers, who beat rivals SC Villa by the same scoreline in Bombo.

URA next travel to Kyetume on Wednesday, while Police host Villa at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.

Back at Bombo Barracks, midfielder Bobosi Byaruhanga, league top scorer Yunus Sentamu and Paul Mucureezi were on target in Vipers SC thrashed SC Villa.

SC Villa goalkeeper Saidi Keni extraordinarily scored the Jogoos consolation.

Byaruhanga put the visitors ahead in the 26th minute before Sentamu doubled the advantage with his 15th league goal of the season six minutes later.

The Jogoos were then reduced to 10 men when defender Gavin Kizito Mugweri was sent off for denying Congolese forward Ceaser Manzoki a clear goal scoring opportunity.

Mucureezi’s 10th goal of the season came off a well curled-in free-kick in the 68th minute as the Venoms kept near URA.

At Mutesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku striker Erick Kambale continued his fine run of form with a well struck penalty for his 12th goal of the season as Express edged UPDF 1-0.

The penalty, which came in the 21st minute, was after defender Bernard Muwanga fouled the striker. Express stay third on the log on 52 points.
