Police striker Ocen Ben, Brian Kalumba of UPDF and KCCA’s Brian Aheebwa have all been nominated for December’s Pilsner Player of the Month award.
The winner gets a trophy and 1m Uganda Shillings.
The 2020/21 StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) is currently on a month’s break to enable Cranes compete in the African Nations Championship (Chan) in Cameroon.
But before the break, the start to the 2020/21 season had been breathtaking.
One hundred and nineteen goals had been scored in the five matchdays played.
No wonder it is the forwards that are dominating the Player of the Month accolade list.
Aheebwa, 22, has so far scored seven goals, including four against Onduparaka, to have KCCA in fourth place with nine points.
Police striker Ocen has so far scored six times to help his side ride high with league leaders UPDF. They are third on 10 points.
Talking UPDF, Kalumba has been superb in front of goal for coach Kefa Kisala’s side.
The striker has netted five goals, including four against Kitara to take UPDF into the break top of the table on 12 points.
Elsewhere, URA coach Sam Ssimbwa is up for a second consecutive coach of the month accolade. He is up against UPDF’s Kisala.
Ssimbwa’s side are yet to lose in five games, and are second behind UPDF on 11 points.
