UPDF 1-0 Soltilo Bright Stars

Both UPDF and Soltilo Bright Stars ended the match with 10 men each as the former triumphed 1-0 in a StarTimes Uganda Premier League match played in Bombo on Monday.

Jibril Nsimbe scored the game’s only goal on 39 minutes for UPDF to move one place and three points above the relegation zone.

The soldiers are 13th with 15 points on a 15-team table after 18 matches so far. Only two teams will be relegated this season.

Bright Stars stay sixth on 24 points after 17 matches following their fifth defeat of the season.

It was an encounter where emotions ran high, and the referee’s book just confirms that.

It was the visitors, Bright Stats, who lost a man first when Hassan Matovu was shown marching orders for violent conduct on 41 minutes.

Moses Kiggundu then got his first booking for poor play on 71 minutes before the UPDF player picked his second yellow card five minutes to full time.

The home side, UPDF, held on to take all three points.
