Ahead of the CHAN 2018 qualifier against Rwanda, Uganda has improved according to the latest FIFA rankings.According the release on Thursday August 10, Uganda is now placed 73rd in the world accumulating a total of 464 points.

The rise maybe attributed to Uganda’s triumph over South Sudan’s Bright Stars that saw the Cranes edge the Bright Stars 5-1 on aggregate.

Uganda’s opponents on Saturday, Rwanda are now ranked 119th after climbing six slots while Egypt, The Cranes next opponents in the FIFA 2018 World Cup qualifiers dropped a slot to 25th.

However, they remain the highest ranked nation in Africa.

The next release of will be in September, a couple of days after the back to back tie against The Pharaohs.
