Uganda Premier League has awarded three players for their outstanding feat in as many previous months.
The trio had KCCA’s Muhammad Shaban, Kirinya’s Fred Amaku and Vipers’ Daniel Sserunkuma who won the Fortebet Player of the Month Award for November, December and February respectively.
The awarding was done at a brief ceremony at Mandela National stadium, Namboole on Thursday and attended by among others Bernard Rwakahembo, the General Manager of Fortebet.
Each winner walked home with cash worth Shs. 0.5 million and a plaque.
Speaking to the press, Rwakahembo said the partnership with the Uganda Premier League has so far been smooth and talks are underway to extend the relationship with even an improved package.
“On a scale of 100, I must admit that this sponsorship yielded fruits up to a rate of 70 percent,” he said. “We are committed to renew the sponsorship with an improved package and I must confess that negotiations are underway,” he stressed.
“Our firm has proved over the years that we value the element of Social Corporate Responsibility with support to schools in Soroti and Mbale.
Bernard Bainamani, the CEO of the Uganda Premier League also had kind words for Fortebet.
“We are proud of our partners (Fortebet) for the effort to sponsor the man of the match and monthly accolades,” he said before also confirming talks are underway.
Negotiations are on to renew the partnership deal. This short term partnership was to test the waters and see how either party can benefit. It was a win-win situation,”
