Uganda has risen one place in the world according to the latest released FIFA rankings.The rankings on the FIFA website on December 22 show Uganda has moved from 73rd to 72nd in the world with 490 points but remain 18th in Africa.

Uganda’s opponents in group D of the Africa Nations Cup due in Gabon in January remain ranked above The Cranes.

Egypt is the highest ranked in the group at 36, Ghana is 53rd while Mali is 12 slots above Uganda.

In relation to that, Congo Brazzaville, another opponent for Uganda in the FIFA 2018 World Cup qualifiers is 70th.

Ghana and Egypt are also in the pool as Uganda and Congo for the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers to be hosted by Russia.
