UPDF 1-0 Police
UPDF went top of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) table on Saturday after edging Police 1-0 in the armed forces derby in Bombo.
Reuben Kabuye was the match winner on 50 minutes as coach Kefa Kisala’s men registered their fourth victory in five games.
This is the UPDF’s best start to the season in years and the victory moves them to 12 points, one more than second placed URA.
Police, who have also started brightly, are third on 10 points all teams having played five matches going into a break to allow Chan preparations.
At Kavumba Ground, Onduparaka picked their second win of the campaign beating Kitara 3-1 to move up to sixth on eight points.
Gabriel Matata netted on 74 and 77 minutes before Kabon Livin put the game beyond the hosts.
Brian Mululi Mayenja did pull one back for Kitara from the penalty spot three minutes from time but it was only valid for a consolation.
With this newcomers Kitara just continued their poor start to top-flight football, losing their fourth game.
Kitara go into the break rooted at the basement with just one point.
