UPDF 2-2 Gaddafi
It was guns blazing, not literally, at the Bombo Military Barracks as Gaddafi rallied from 2-0 down to rescue a point in a fierce encounter with hosts UPDF on Tuesday.
UPDF FC are the sporting face of the national army, while Gaddafi, one of the three newly promoted sides to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL), also have some connections with the aforementioned.
So the stage for bragging rights was clearly set heading into this as no one was willing to drop their guard.
But it is the visitors who dropped theirs quite early on, falling 2-0 down inside the first 26 minutes.
Pilsner Man of the Match Medi Kibirige was the chief executioner, landing the first two bullets on target on 19 and 26 minutes as UPDF huffed into a double lead.
But Gaddafi refused to go away, Andrew Waiswa pulling one back on 28 minutes before Hassan Musana leveled matters in added time of the first half to force a 2-2 draw.
The two, UPDF and Gaddafi, are in eighth and ninth positions on the log with five points apiece, but with the latter having played one game more.
