Busoga United 0-2 UPDF
The UPDF boosted their chances of staying up and Mbarara City their own survival lifeline as both sides posted impressive StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) results on Tuesday.
Both Mbarara and UPDF beat fellow relegation strugglers Police and Busoga United 3-0 and 2-0 respectively.
In Jinja at Kakindu Stadium, visitors UPDF went ahead on the hour mark when Rogers Adriko sent in a long range rebound.
Hosts Busoga pushed for an equaliser but instead fell further behind when Ibrahim Wamannah sealed the victory for UPDF from a corner kick with two minutes left to play.
The UPDF now sit eighth on 30 points, three places and four points ahead of Busoga and six marks above relegation with five matches to go.
In Mbarara, the hosts gave themselves a lifeline with a commanding 3-0 victory over Police, Gadaffi Kacancu, Henry Kitegenyi and Henry Musisi scoring the goals.
Defeat dragged Police closer to the relegation red line on 24 points, just two ahead of Mbarara.
Both sides have five matches left to confirm their league status.
