KCCA ended their 41 year wait for a second Cecafa Kagame Cup title with a 1-0 win over Azam in the finals to lift the 2019 edition.

Mustafa Kizza scored the all-important goal in the second half to end Azam’s dominance who had won the competition twice in succession.

Even without three star players in Allan Kyambadde, Timothy Awany and Patrick Kaddu who were left out due to national duties, Mike Mutebi’s side were superior in Kigali losing no game throughout.

The win means that for the first time since 2006 when Police won it, no Ugandan team had won the competition.

The Kasasiro leave Kigali with a trophy and $ 30,000 richer courtesy of prize money.
