UPL dominated Cranes pick away point in Kenya

Uganda Cranes picked a vital away point in their opening match of the Fifa 2022 World Cup qualifiers drawing goalless with Kenya at Nyayo stadium.

Mulitin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic named a squad dominated with Uganda Premier League stars including Vipers’ youngster Bobosi Byaruhanga.

Lwaliwa suffered an injury inside ten minutes and was replaced by Express captain Enock Walusimbi and later skipper Emmanuel Okwi also came off injured for Derrick Nsibambi.

The match proper didn’t have enough scoring opportunities but Joseph Ochaya and Moses Waiswa tested Kenyan goalie Ian Otieno from distance.

At the back, Murushid Jjuuko and company kept things tight at the back as the Cranes settled for a point.

Uganda returns to action on Monday at St. Mary’s stadium, Kitende when they host Mali who beat Rwanda on Wednesday in Morocco.
