The Uganda Premier League has joined the football fraternity as they mourn the demise of one of its members’ chairman, Tommy Ochen of Maroons.
Ochen passed away on Wednesday evening and the secretariat will commemorate his life with a minute of silence before the final games of the league on Friday according to CEO Bernard Bainamani.
“The Secretariat regrets to announce the death of Maroons chairman Tommy Ochen who passed away on Wednesday May 25, 2016…..” read a statement in parts from UPL signed by Bainamani.
“In regard to the above, a minute of silence shall be observed before kickoff of all AUPL games on Friday May 27, 2016 in accordance with article 25 (2) of the FUFA Competitions rules,” it continued.
“Teams are also asked to wear black arm bands on the left shirt sleeves.”
