UPL News Roundup: Express crowning, Kisala sacked at UPDF, KCCA, URA dominate transfer news so far

KCCA, Mbarara City and URA are so far dominating the transfer period news.

After releasing left back Moses Kalanzi, KCCA also confirmed the departure of defender Filbert Obenchan.

The duo is part of many that are expected to be let go by new coach Morley Byekwaso who wants to build his own team after replacing Mike Mutebi mid last season.

The Kasasiro are yet to confirm any new signing though.

At Gayaza, URA have extended the contract of midfielder Julius Mutyaba who has been at the club for the past four years.

Mbarara City have also tied down goalkeeper Martin Elungati and striker Jude Semugabi with new contracts.

Elsewhere, UPDF have sacked Coach Kefa Kisala just one season after leading them to 9th position on their return to the top division.

At Villa Park, the club is expected to hold its first ever Congress since turning into a community club.

The dates have been confirmed as July 11 and it will virtual due to lockdown.

And finally, champions Express FC will be crowned on Tuesday July 13 at the StarTimes Head office in Kampala in a scientific ceremony.

The crowning was earlier scheduled for Thursday this week but was postponed.
