StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) stars continue to stake claim to the national side as the 2022 World Cup qualifiers enter matchday five.

The home-based players have majorly formed a big part of this campaign for the first four games, with at least 16 named for the previous back-to-back clashes against Rwanda.

But the latest squad named for the final two games against Kenya this Thursday and Mali on Sunday has the highest number of domestic league players yet.

Cranes coach Micho Sredojevic named 18 local-based players in his 28-man squad, news that will have excited those at the helm of the league.

Uganda face Kenya hoping for maximum points if they are to go into the final game away to Mali on Sunday still in contention for the final slot in the last stage of qualification.

Mali top Group E on 10 points, with Uganda second on eight. Kenya and Rwanda are already out of the running.
