URA all but ends Vipers’ title chances, one all draw in Matugga

Friday Results

  • Vipers 1-2 URA
  • Bright Stars 1-1 Police

Shafik Kagimu and Dickens Kilama scored in either half to sink Vipers 2-1 at their St. Mary’s stadium, Kitende home and literally end their title chances.

Hamis Kiiza pulled one back for the hosts from the spot from what appeared like a controversial penalty.

Kagimu gave URA the lead in the 28th minute before Kilama made 2-0 at the hour mark.

Four minutes later, Kiiza halved the deficit with a goal but the visitors held on for all points and earn their second victory at Kitende.

Vipers stay second on the log with 50 points, six behind KCCA who take on rivals Express on Saturday while URA are now third on 46 points.

At Champions stadium, Mwererwe, Augustine Kacancu scored in the second half to deny Police from completing a double over Bright Stars.

Basani Nasur Saafi had given the Cops a deserved lead inside eight minutes.
