URA 3-1 Onduparaka
URA picked their second straight victory after seven consecutive draws, thrashing 10-man Onduparaka 3-1 at Namboole on Friday.
Goals from Shafik Kagimu and Mathew Odong, plus an own strike from Abel Eturude were more than sufficient to render Viane Sekajugo’s irrelevant in this StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) clash.
There was also enough time for Onduparaka defender Denis Okot to pick his second yellow card late on as the West Nile side ended the tough contest a man fewer.
URA went ahead when Kagimu converted from the penalty spot on 23 minutes before Eturude turned the second into his own net a minute to half time.
But Sekajugo pulled one back on the stroke of half time to take it into the break at 2-1. Onduparaka came back from the break sensing a real opportunity to salvage something from the game.
But URA had other ideas, Odong restoring a two-goal cushion for URA with the third three minutes into the second half.
Matters got worse for Onduparaka in the 90th minute when Okot was given marching orders after a second bookable offence.
Victory moves URA four places up to fourth on 20 points, seven behind table leaders KCCA. Onduparaka remain unchanged in third on 23 points.
