URA 1-0 KCCA

Onduparaka 4-2 Tooro United

SC Villa 0-0 UPDF

Vipers 1-1 BUL

URA ended StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) table leaders, KCCA’s 13-match unbeaten run this season with a 1-0 victory at the Arena of Visions, Ndejje on Saturday.

Steven Mukwala scored the game’s only goal on a day two for KCCA were contentiously ruled out.

The URA striker, Mukwala, headed home the Tax Collectors winner off a Saidi Kyeyune curling corner kick on 37 minutes.

Events in Ndejje happened on a day that Vipers conceded a late leveller as BUL left St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende with a point in the 1-1 draw.

But staying in Ndejje, URA’s goal came after KCCA had had their own disallowed by the assistant referee.

The assistant first raised his flag after Sadat Anaku – already in offside position – attempted to help in a Roger Mato goal-bound ball, the striker penalized for apparent interference with play.

But the striker was away from the goalkeeper’s view by the time the ball came close to him. And he never touched it.

Later, Anaku’s rebounded effort was also ruled out for an apparent offside although TV replays showed he was marginally inside.

This was URA’s fifth victory in 13 matches, leaving them seventh on the log with 22 points.

KCCA’s first defeat of the season still leaves them top on 31 points after 14 matches, one mark ahead of second-placed Vipers, who were held to a one-all draw by BUL at Kitende.

Walter Ochora’s own goal gave Vipers an early lead but second half substitute Simon Peter Oketch struck at the death to earn BUL a valuable point.

At AbaBet Green Light Stadium in Arua, home side Onduparaka held off Tooro United 4-2 to end their recent poor run.

Skipper Muhammad Shaban, Gabriel Matata, Nathan Oloro and Emmanuel Oketch scored for Onduparaka.

Battling Tooro got their consolation goals through Hussein Mwanje and Denis Ojara.

At the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru, SC Villa and the UPDF settled for a goalless draw.
