Vipers 1-2 URA

URA ended Vipers’ Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) unbeaten run at the St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende as the Venoms fell 2-1 on Tuesday.

The tax collectors came from behind to claim all three points thanks to Henry Kisekka and player of the match Shafik Kagimu’s goals.

It was Vipers’ first loss in the league at the Kitende Stadium in 12 games, stretching from last season.

They have won eight of those, scoring 19 times and conceding just five.

Vipers took an early lead through Milton Karisa in the fifth minute for his sixth goal of the season.

But they were wasteful with Tony Odur, Moses Waiswa and Karisa all squandering opportunities in the first half.

The hosts were meant to pay for their profligacy, Kisekka and Kagimu striking on 40 and 47 minutes for URA to claim all three points.

URA move two places up to sixth on 19 points while Vipers remain on 20 points, eight behind leaders SC Villa. The Venoms drop a place to fifth.
