Onduparaka 2-1 Police
Kirinya-Jinja 2-2 Bul
Bright Stars 0-2 URA
Nine goals were scored in Sunday’s three StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) matches with Onduparaka and URA the big winners of the day.
Onduparaka edged Police 2-1 in Arua while URA saw off Bright Stars 2-0 away in Mwererwe.
Kirinya-Jinja and Bul could only settle for a draw at The Mighty Arena.
Robert Omunuk’s 29th minute goal and Charles Sempa’s strike 17 minutes from time were enough to push URA two places up to eighth in the table on 17 points.
A penalty from Rashid Toha on 10 minutes and a Caesar Okhuti winner after 56 minutes were enough to relegate Simon Mbazira’s hour goal to just a consolation as Onduparaka edged Police.
Victory moved Onduparaka one place up to second on 23 points, one fewer than leaders KCCA, while defeat for Police saw them drop two to ninth on 17 points.
In Jinja, Joel Madondo scored his eighth goal of the campaign, only one fewer than SC Villa’s Bashir Mutanda, as Kirinya rallied to force a draw at home to Bul.
Bul had taken a first minute lead through Farouk Banga before Deogratius Ojok made it 2-0 on the half hour.
But Fred Amaku reduced the deficit on 56 minutes before Madondo rescued a point for the hosts.
