 JMC 1-3 URA

James Odoch was on the winning side for the first time this season as his new side, URA, beat his former JMC outfit 3-1 at Kakindu Stadium on Saturday.

Ronald Kigongo, Robert Mukonghteya and Sam Sekitto scored for the tax collectors while Walter Bankene got JMC’s consolation.

The victory was URA’s first in four Azam Uganda Premir League (UPL) matches. For JMC, it couldn’t get worse. The Jinja side are yet to pick any maximum points on four attempts.

This will have hurt most for them because it came at the hands of one of their own, or their former own for that matter.

Until Thursday this week, Odoch was preparing JMC for this fixture. But then news came through that the coach was crossing to URA, who eventually announced his signing the same day.

Odoch, who replaced the sacked Livingstone Mbabazi, however, dropped one tier from being the head coach at the JMC to becoming Kefa Kisala’s assistant at URA.

Not that he will care, given the resources at the tax collectors’ disposal. He got his first reward with victory against his very own.

Victory for URA moved them three up to sixth on as many points, while JMC remain rooted the basement of a 16-team league with one point.
