Masavu 0-2 URA
URA finally returned to winning ways, beating bottom side Masavu 2-0 in Entebbe on Tuesday.
Labama Bokota and Henry Kisekka were on target to reduce pressure on under-fire coach Ibrahim Kirya.
Victory moves the tax collectors to eighth in the Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) on 12 points, five behind leaders Police.
Defeat for Masavu, who have only one win to their name, leaves them rooted at the bottom of the 16-team league table with just four points.
URA, who have won only three of their nine games, had lost to Bright Stars and drawn goalless with Villa coming into this.
This left the tax collectors flirting above the relegation zone, leaving coach Kirya under immense pressure.
Anything beyond victory against Masavu could have easily seen URA axe their man.
But Bokota and Kisekka struck twice in the second half to give the coach and their club a fresh lease of life.
