SUPL Friday Result
URA 1-1 Vipers SC
Vipers SC improved their 30-match unbeaten run with a 1-1 draw at URA on Friday.
But this hurt their StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) title ambitions as they squandered the first of their two matches in hand.
The result keeps them second but saw them miss an opportunity to further cut the deficit on leaders KCCA.
Vipers now have 30 points, six fewer than KCCA but having played a game fewer.
URA captain Shafik Kagimu was involved in a quick counterattack that ended with him beating Vipers goalkeeper Fabian Mutombora at the far post from Ronald Musana’s right wing cross for a 37th minute lead.
But a quickly taken throw-in from Ibrahim Kiyemba caught out the URA defence and Daniel Sserunkuma held off Hood Mulikyi to squeeze in the leveller.
The result left URA sixth on the 16-team log with 22 points from 15 games.
