SC Villa vs URA

SC Villa take on coach Paul Nkata’s URA at Masaka Recreation Ground on Wednesday hoping to topple league leaders Vipers.

Vipers top the Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) on 35 points, two and three more than second-placed Villa and KCCA respectively but the Venoms are not in action until Friday when they face Maroons at Luzira.

Villa hope to take advantage of this by beating URA and reclaiming the log leadership. “I believe we have prepared well and we are ready for tomorrow (today, Wednesday),” said Villa assistant coach Paul Mukatabala.

“The fact that we didn’t manage to get anything from the KCCA game means that our clash with URA FC takes on extra importance.”

Villa suffered a 1-0 defeat to KCCA in their last league outing, teenager Allan Okello scoring the game’s only goal.

Fortunately for Mukatabala and his boss Wasswa Bbosa, Villa go into this clash with no injury concerns.

The Jogoos are, however, aware of the danger a URA side, who have struggled through the season, can cause.

“We are aware of Nkata’s passing philosophy and we won’t allow URA time and space to execute that,” added Mukatabala.
