SC Villa ended a string of draws with a hard-fought 1-0 victory away at Busoga United in one of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) matches on Wednesday.

Midfielder Salim Abdallah netted the goal from a penalty spot on 16 minutes.

Coach Petros Koukouras’ boys are now 11th on the table with 13 points from 11 matches.

At Bombo Barracks, Musa Esenu’s 12th minute goal for BUL was cancelled out by Ivan Ahimbisibwe’s 78th minute leveller for hosts UPDF.

In Wakiso, it was not a good evening for hosts – the Giants. They lost 1-2 to Arua as coach coach Livingston Mbabazi returned to haunt his former side.

Gaddafi Gadinho gave the visitors the lead on 15 minutes before Tom Masiko levelled for Alex Gitta’s Purple Sharks.

Bit Alfred Leku had the final say, the Arua Hill striker winning it on 64 minutes.

Victory took Arua Hill to fourth on 21 points while Wakiso Giants are sixth on 20.

In Ndejje, URA saw off Mbarara City 2-0, skipper Shafik Kagimu and Ibrahim Juma Dada the scorers.

URA, who had gone four matches without victory, are eighth on the log with 17 points from 10 matches.
