Villa, Mbarara City seek to avenge first round defeats

Match day 17 of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League continues with two matches on Friday.

First, at Masindi, SC Villa make the long trip to face Kitara at the Municipal stadium.

Both teams posted victories on match day 16 and will want to build on that as they aim to close in on leaders BUL.

The hosts won the reverse fixture 2-1 at Wankulukuku on day one with a late winner and Villa haven’t forgotten about that and will have revenge mission written all over their sleeves.

Three points separate the two sides with Kitara second on 32 while Villa are 4^th with 29 points heading into this highly anticipated clash.

In the late kick off, Mbarara City visit NEC at the MTN Omondi stadium, Lugogo.

The day’s hosts beat the Ankole Lions 1-0 in the reverse fixture, their first ever victory in the premier league.

NEC have a chance to move up to 4^th on the table with maximum points as they currently occupy 7^th place with 27 points while Wasswa Bbosa’s men, currently 11^th will climb up to 9^th position if they win.
