SC Villa 2-1 Bright Stars

Kyetume 3-2 Onduparaka

SC Villa came from behind to beat Bright Stars 2-1 on Friday at Namboole and maintain third spot on the StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) log.

Emmanuel Wasswa and Benson Muhindo scored Villa’s goals to nullify Jamil Kaliisa’s earlier strike for Bright Stars.

This was Villa’s third straight home win that moved them to 43 points, 10 behind leaders Vipers after 24 games.

Muhindo took matters into his own hands against Proline, netting a stunning long range strike that sealed a 2-1 come from behind win.

He was at it again here, coming off the bench to set up Wasswa for the equalizer before powering in a winning header himself.

Defeat for Bright Stars was a setback to their otherwise impressive second round run that saw them rise to 10th following a run of six wins in the opening eight games.

Elsewhere Robert Ssentongo scored a brace to guide Kyetume to a 3-2 win over Onduparaka.

The result saw Kyetume climb to 10th on the 16-team log.

Baker Buyala scored Kyetume’s other goal while Rajab Kakooza and Julius Malingumu got Onduparaka’s.
