KCCA will continue playing catch up today after leaders SC Villa restored their six-point lead at the top of the Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) table on Wednesday.

The 16-time record champions, seeking their first title in 14 years, edged visiting 10-man Police 1-0 in Masaka to keep championship hopes bright.

The game also saw Police’s Ibrahim Kibumba sent off for dangerous play.

Martin Kizza continued his decent form for the Jogoos, scoring the winner on 50 minutes.

The goal – a long range effort – was the left-footed winger’s sixth in the league in as many games.

Kizza is now third on the scorers charts with nine goals.

The victory moved Villa to a league best 49 points, six better than KCCA and Vipers, after 23 matches. Police remain seventh with 32 points.
