Arua Hill 2-2 SC Villa

Inexperience continued to show in SC Villa’s youthful side as the Jogoos surrendered a 2-0 lead to draw at the Barifa Stadium in West Nile on Tuesday.

Coach Petros Koukouras’ side drew first blood, striker Isaac Ogwang taking full advantage of Arua Hill goalkeeper Rogers Omedwa’s error to Villa ahead on 35 minutes.

The visitors doubled their advantage four minutes later, Saddam Masereka turning Arua Hill left-back Richard Matovu inside out before crossing for Nicholas Kabonge to score.

But coach Livingston Mbabazi’s men regrouped and battled back, committing Villa to chase high balls and getting them out of position.

The tactic worked as Robert Eseru and Geriga Atendere exploited the spaces for Alfred Leku to pull one goal back on 42 minutes.

Villa were on the back foot for the better of the second period, with their midfield and defence at sea for most of the time.

The pressure soon yielded, substitute Innocent Media notching home the equaliser 10 minutes from full time.

The result keeps Villa 12th on the log with nine points from as many matches while Arua Hill (15 points) are five places above the Jogoos.
