Thursday’s result
Ndejje University 0-1 Onduparaka
Uganda’s most successful club, SC Villa, will still play in the country’s topflight league next season after their survival was confirmed on Thursday.
This is after Ndejje University lost to Onduparaka 1-0 at the Arena of Visions Stadium, Viane Sekajugo scoring the only goal.
The two teams were completing the remaining 70 minutes of the earlier washed out game the previous day.
Ndejje’s defeat saw them join Nyamityobora and Paidha Black Angels in the Big League next season, while it also ensured Villa stayed up.
Ndejje and Villa are separated by five points, meaning that the Jogoos cannot be caught even if the former won their final game.
Villa can at best finish at 34 points and two places above relegation, the worst in their topflight history.
