Villa, URA coaches okay with point

Tuesday result

SC Villa 0-0 URA

Two StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) giants, at least by virtue of titles won, SC Villa and URA played out a goalless draw on Tuesday.

Both teams – boasting of 20 league titles between them despite taking seven+ years without adding to the tally – had enough chances to win the game but came shot in front of goal.

Having come into this Namboole affair desperate for their first win of the season, Villa could settle for anything but defeat.

Like URA, Villa created enough chances to win the game but were let down by their poor finishing.

However, Villa coach Moses Basena is not overly disappointed.

“We need to be consistent when in control,” said Basena told upl.co.ug.

“But after the harsh 3-1 defeat to Vipers, this was an improvement. We just have to continue being competitive and consistent. A point here is good.”

His counterpart Sam Ssimbwa believes they should have won the game.

“We created more chances than them (Villa) and we should have won,” assured Ssimbwa.

“But the boys gave their all and Villa is a big club, so it’s a point gained.”

Winless Villa, who remain in relegation zone, now have three points from five matches while URA stay fourth on nine points.
