Vipers aim to bounce back at MYDA; Eagles seek to prey on Caterpillars

Wednesday April 28, 2021 Fixtures, 4pm

  • MYDA vs Vipers – King George IV stadium, Tororo
  • Express vs Onduparaka – Betway stadium, Wankulukuku
  • Wakiso Giants vs Police – Kabaka Kyabaggu stadium

After dropping five of the last available six points to lose top spot, Vipers SC return to action on Wednesday seeking to bounce back at MYDA.

The champions drew and lost to Wakiso Giants and Express respectively and URA’s win over Mbarara City on Tuesday implies they come into the game four points behind leaders.

They go into the game as clear favourites against a side the clobbered 7-0 in the reverse fixture but can’t take anything for granted as MYDA are also fighting for their lives.

It remains to be seen whether Fred Kajoba will continue to put trust in his goal scoring lieutenants Yunus Sentamu, Ceaser Mazonki and Paul Mucureezi who have fired blanks in the last two games or go with Daniel Mzee Sserunkuma, Abraham Ndugwa and Allan Kayiwa who have had limited playing time under his tenure.

Vipers’ victory will lift them to just within a point of leaders URA with nine games to go.

At Wankulukuku, Express will target ending their home bad run against Onduparaka.

The Caterpillars have won their previous three visits to the Red Eagles but must have to be clinical at both ends to stop the hosts who are chasing their first title in 10 years.

Elsewhere, Police visit Wakiso Giants at Wakissha with both sides eager for victory.

The Giants are engaged in a relegation battle and are aware that maximum points will see them create a four point gap from the drop zone.

Police on the other hand want to win to keep pace with leaders.
